Who is the best Person you know? Once you identify who your best person is, then think about what makes that person the best person you know? Is that person the wealthiest person you know? Probably not. Is that person the best athlete you know? Probably not. Is that person the best looking person you know? Probably not. At least that may not be why you consider them the best person you know. My guess is that your criteria goes deeper than that. For me, it is not wealth, physical skills or appearance that makes the difference. It has to do with the character and the principles that make up that person. My best person has very high standards and they live them genuinely.
One person that I most admire is a person who cares about people and has a genuine interest in every person they interact with including me. That person is someone I trust, and I know to be a person of integrity. They are a person who speaks their mind but not in a dramatic or offensive way. They are always respectful and treat people with dignity. I can’t help but be impressed with their strong faith. They don’t push it on people, but they also are not afraid to speak about how God is present in their life. More often they will speak about how God has helped them establish a high standard and brighter focus for their life.
The character of that person causes me to reflect on myself. Am I the best person I can be? Do I live with those characteristics and principles that I admire in them? I know that I fall down but my desire is there. Every time I think of that person I think to myself, what can I do today to be better? How about you?
